Bio
Brownout is an American Latin-funk band from Austin, Texas, active since 2003 and originally formed as a side project by members of the Grammy-winning Grupo Fantasma. The hard-hitting octet blends norteño and conjunto with hard rock, blues and deep funk, drawing on influences like Santana, Earth, Wind & Fire and P-Funk; they won the 2008 Austin Music Award for Best Latin Contemporary Band and are also known for their Black Sabbath tribute project Brown Sabbath
