The Froligo manifesto
Technology in service of culture
We believe the future should have more art in it, not less.

More music played live. More strange little festivals that become someone’s favourite weekend of the year. More independent artists finding an audience. More people travelling somewhere they have never been, standing in a field with strangers, and feeling part of something for a few hours.
Culture is not a luxury added after the important things are done.
It is one of the important things.
Music, art, performance, celebration, shared rituals, humour, storytelling, community: these are some of the ways people make sense of being alive. They create memory. They build identity. They connect people who might otherwise never meet.
As technology becomes more capable, we do not want it to flatten those things.
We want it to help protect and amplify them.
Froligo uses technology, including AI, for the machinery around culture
That is where we think machines are valuable
- To check thousands of festival pages for changes.
- To notice when dates move.
- To find the real ticket link.
- To compare prices.
- To read announcements people would otherwise miss.
- To make complicated information easier to understand.
- To help someone discover an artist they have never heard before.
- To help a small festival be found.
- To make travel and accessibility information more useful.
- To remove some of the friction between wanting to go and actually being there.
And where they are not
- Not pretending they went to the show.
- Not inventing opinions about music they have never heard in a crowded room.
- Not replacing artists with infinite synthetic imitation.
- Not scraping somebody’s work and forgetting who made it.
- Not manufacturing culture because culture is inconveniently human.
The art is human.
The people are the point.
Our technology should know the difference.
We want Froligo’s AI to be visibly useful, occasionally clever and sometimes funny about the fact that it is a machine.
It can read an unreasonable number of festival announcements so you do not have to.
It can check the weather in forty towns.
It can notice that a ticket price changed overnight.
It can sift through noise and say, here is what we can actually confirm.
And then it should get out of the way.
Because eventually someone has to play the guitar.
Someone has to write the song.
Someone has to build the stage, paint the sign, dance badly, take the photograph, sell the tacos, tell the story, fall in love with a band and insist that their friends listen to them.
No machine improves on the fact that people want to gather.
So our test for technology is simple:
Does this help people connect more deeply with artists, culture, places or one another?
If it does, we are interested.
If it merely produces more synthetic stuff to fill the internet, we probably are not.
We believe AI can be pro-art. Not because AI should become the artist, but because it can take on some of the repetitive, invisible work that surrounds creative life.
Let machines organise.
Let machines check.
Let machines search, compare, translate, monitor and remember.
And wherever possible, give the saved attention back to people.
Back to making.
Back to listening.
Back to gathering.
Back to culture.
Froligo will use AI openly
- We will not pretend our machines are people.
- We will say where information came from.
- We will distinguish evidence from inference, prediction from confirmation, and community opinion from fact.
- We will credit creators.
- We will respect rights.
- We will give emerging artists room to be discovered without asking them to pay for the privilege.
- We will build systems that help independent culture compete for attention in an internet increasingly filled with generated noise.
And we will remember that efficiency is not the highest human value.
Sometimes the point is to spend three hours watching a band.
Sometimes the point is to travel six hundred miles because your friend said, trust me, you need to see this live.
Sometimes the point is simply to be there.
That is what Froligo is ultimately for.
