Bio
Daniil Trifonov is a Russian pianist and composer, born 5 March 1991 in Nizhny Novgorod to professional musicians, who studied at Moscow's Gnessin School with Tatiana Zelikman and then with Sergei Babayan at the Cleveland Institute of Music. In 2011 he won both the Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, where he took First Prize and the Grand Prix. He records for Deutsche Grammophon, won a 2018 Grammy Award, and was Gramophone's Artist of the Year in 2016
