Diamond Rio is an American country band from Nashville, Tennessee, that grew out of an Opryland USA house act and adopted its current name in 1989. Signed to Arista Nashville in 1991, the group became the first country band to send a debut single, "Meet in the Middle," to number one on the Billboard country chart.
