Bio
Les Arts Florissants is a French Baroque ensemble founded in 1979 by conductor and harpsichordist William Christie, and named after a short opera by Marc-Antoine Charpentier. Combining a period-instrument chamber orchestra with a vocal ensemble, it played a pioneering role in reviving neglected 17th- and 18th-century French and Italian repertoire. British tenor Paul Agnew became co-musical director in 2020
