Bio

Marie Vaunt (born Bobbie Merveille in Seattle, Washington to a French father and Japanese mother, raised in Japan) is a Japanese-American techno DJ and producer based in Los Angeles. Dubbed the "Acid Techno Priestess," she is known for driving acid-techno built around the Roland TB-303, sometimes woven with Japanese instruments like the koto and shamisen. She adopted the Marie Vaunt persona in 2018 after nearly two decades performing as DJ Heavygrinder, and has released on labels including Drumcode and co-founded Kurai Records
