Bio

Morrissey, born Steven Patrick Morrissey in 1959 in Manchester, England, is a British singer and lyricist who first rose to prominence as the frontman of the indie rock band The Smiths, active from 1982 to 1987. Known for his distinctive baritone and literate, often melancholic lyrics, he launched a solo career after the band's breakup. His solo album You Are the Quarry was released in 2004.
