Santigold, born Santi White in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American singer, songwriter, and producer known for genre-blending music that fuses new wave, dub, electro-pop, punk, and hip-hop. She studied music and African-American studies at Wesleyan University and released her acclaimed debut album, then titled "Santogold," in 2008. She adopted the name Santigold in 2009 following a legal dispute over the original spelling.
