The experience
What's special
The Asheville Comedy Festival presented by the local 'Laugh Your Asheville Off' organization is a stand-up comedy festival that has run for roughly 18 years in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, centered on the Wortham Center for the Performing Arts and spread across two weekends. Rather than an outdoor or camping festival, it is a series of ticketed theater showcases and special headliner events (recent special guests have included touring comedians such as Chris Porter), with around 40 comics performing tight 10-minute sets to a full auditorium. It has built a reputation as an industry-facing launching pad for emerging talent, with selected performers going on to television appearances, and it draws submissions from comics across the country
