Bele Chere was a large free summer street festival held in downtown Asheville, North Carolina, from the late 1970s until 2013, filling the streets with music, food and craft vendors. Once among the Southeast's biggest downtown festivals, it grew increasingly crowded in its later years and was discontinued after 2013
