Age, licensing and hygiene
Organizer FAQ, verbatim: 'To be tattooed, you MUST be 18 years or older and have proper and VALID identification with you. Sorry, no exceptions.' And: 'All attendees over the age of 13 will need a ticket. There is no age limit for who can attend.' Ohio law makes it illegal to tattoo anyone under 18 other than by a physician, so the 18+ rule is a legal requirement, not only a house rule
Body art in Ohio is regulated at the local level: Ohio Revised Code Chapter 3730 requires tattoo and body-piercing operations to be approved by the local board of health, which for Marietta is the Washington County Health Department (Marietta, OH 45750; 740-373-6623). The county publishes a convention-specific 'Bizarre Bazaar Tattoo Convention October 2026 Temporary Body Art Application' on its FormCenter, which indicates that operating a temporary body art booth at this event requires health-department approval. The organizer itself does not publish a licensing statement; the state law layer above could not be read verbatim from codes.ohio.gov on 5 September 2026 and should be confirmed by a human
The organiser publishes nothing on Any organizer hygiene, sterilization or single-use-needle statement, Any organizer consent or aftercare form text, Whether a health officer inspects the convention floor and The verbatim Ohio Revised Code Chapter 3730 requirements (codes.ohio.gov unreachable on 5 September 2026). Ask the artist you are booking with, and expect a licensed booth to answer without hesitating.

What's special
Bizarre Bazaar is a three-day regional tattoo convention at the Tower Event and Conference Center in Marietta, in southeast Ohio's Mid-Ohio Valley, presented by Monkey's Uncle Tattoo. Its 2026 edition (October 2 to 4) publishes a large lineup of 83 tattoo artists and shops plus a piercer, each listed with an Instagram handle so visitors can view work before choosing. Programming spans a full three-day contest schedule (Friday traditional, Japanese, lettering and anime categories; Saturday small, portrait, geometric, Most Bizarre and Worst Tattoo; Sunday large pieces, chest and back work, Style Mash-Up and Best of Show), a first-year Volsung car show, a first-year Mizz Bizarre pin-up contest, and a one-night Clownvis performance on the Saturday. General admission is $10; attendees aged 13 and over need a ticket and there is no age limit on who may attend, while getting tattooed requires being 18 or older with valid ID
What happens on the floor
The core format: artists take a booth for the weekend and work on the open floor, with the public walking through.
Finished and same-day work is judged on stage in named categories, usually late in the day.
Piercers work alongside the tattoo booths. The same questions apply: age, ID, sterilisation and aftercare.
Getting tattooed here
Admission gets you through the door, not into a chair. Tattoo work is arranged with the artist, not with the show.
Per the organizer FAQ: appointments are arranged directly with each artist, not the organizer. Contact the artist through the website or social link on the lineup; some artists take only walk-ups, others prefer scheduling ahead. A ticket is still required to enter even if you are getting tattooed (all attendees 13+ need one)
Walk-ups are common. The organizer FAQ: 'It all depends on the artist! You will most likely have the choice of either. Some artists do not take appointments at shows and only seek walk up clients, and there are some that would prefer you schedule ahead.'

What it costs
Admission is the only price the show sets. Booking is handled directly with each artist, not the organizer. The organizer's FAQ states you will most likely have the choice of appointment or walk up depending on the artist, that some artists take only walk-ups while others prefer scheduling ahead, and that you should contact the artist through the website or social media link on the lineup. It also states plainly that tattoo prices are set entirely by each individual artist and the organizer does not give quotes, and that admission does not contribute to the cost of a tattoo. A walk up costs whatever that artist charges; the organizer publishes no price guide and no show minimum.
Extras, bought separately
If you are exhibiting
Booth and vendor fees are what the show charges artists and traders. They are not visitor prices.
Only the $10 General Admission is a visitor gate price. Booth ($700 to $2400), merch vendor ($250), sponsorship ($500), car-show entry ($10) and pin-up entry ($25) are participant or contestant fees, not admission. The $10 Clownvis ticket is a separate add-on performance
The market and the food
Named traders include Alissa Renzetti, Bicknee Tattoo Supply, Ink & Iron Supply, Lady Creepshow Couture, Olivia Mezick Massage, Two Thangs and Twisted Glass.
Food on site: food-vendors and coffeehouse.
The 2026 lineup names Sol De Montani and The Bakery and Coffeehouse as food vendors. The organizer's About page adds that the wider event has grown to include food vendors and musical guests. Dietary options are not stated

What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.
ATTENDANCE is all ages with no age limit, but every attendee aged 13 and over needs a ticket (organizer FAQ). GETTING TATTOOED requires you to be 18 or older with proper valid identification, no exceptions (organizer FAQ).
Ohio law backs this: it is illegal to tattoo a person under 18 except by a physician, and a minor's body piercing requires a parent or guardian's presence and consent
Confirm your specific needs with the organiser's access team before you travel.
