Organizers 8bitpeoples announced the October 2012 Tokyo edition would be the last installment of the series, after seven years and eleven festivals across four countries.

What's special
A festival celebrating chiptune and 8-bit music, combining live performances with workshops and film screenings. In its day it was one of the largest gatherings worldwide for chip music, drawing an international crowd built around the online chiptune scene
What people love
What attendees remember most is the crowd: an uninhibited, positive and inclusive community that reacted enthusiastically to every act. For many it was a rare chance to meet, in person, friends from an international online music scene, in a setting they described as special
