Calle Ocho Music Festival

For travelers coming down the Florida corridor rather than flying into MIA: Brightline runs from Orlando, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Aventura to MiamiCentral station in downtown Miami, adjacent to Government Center Metrorail/Metromover. From MiamiCentral it's one Metrorail stop to Brickell (then Route 8/rideshare as above) or a ~10-min rideshare (~2.5 mi) straight to the festival's east entrance. Also the practical rail connection if you fly into Fort Lauderdale (FLL) instead of MIA, FLL's shuttle-linked Brightline Fort Lauderdale station is a ~30-40 min ride to MiamiCentral

Amtrak's Silver Service trains from New York/Washington/the Southeast terminate at Miami station, 8303 NW 37th Ave, on the city's northwest side near Hialeah, roughly 8-9 mi from Little Havana. Realistic only for travelers already on the Atlantic-coast corridor; from the station it's a rideshare or a Metrobus/Metrorail connection into town. Brightline (above) is the more central rail arrival for in-state travel

Intercity coaches from across Florida and the Southeast serve downtown Miami stops (Greyhound/FlixBus share the network; some schedules also stop at a Miami Airport location). From downtown it's a short rideshare or a Brickell-area Metrorail/Route 8 connection into Little Havana. A budget option for regional travelers rather than an airport transfer

From MIA terminals, ride the free MIA Mover from the 3rd level (between Dolphin and Flamingo garages) to the Miami Intermodal Center, home of the Miami International Airport Metrorail station. Take the Orange Line toward Dadeland South to Brickell station (~20-25 min), then either Metrobus Route 8, which runs west along the SW 8th St/Calle Ocho corridor from Brickell station seven days a week, or a ~25-min walk / short rideshare to the festival's eastern entrance at SW 12th Ave. Vizcaya station (two stops past Brickell) is an alternative, ~1.3 mi walk to the east end. Fare is $2.25 per ride, paid contactless at the gate or with an EASY Card/EASY Ticket (vending machines at the Intermodal Center) or the GO Miami-Dade Transit app; faregates don't take cash. Festival-day caveat: eastbound SW 8th St closes from the Saturday night before, so expect Route 8 and the (free) City of Miami Little Havana trolley to detour off Calle Ocho, the city's posted detour routes eastbound trolley service via SW 1st St. Budget extra walking from detoured stops

Taxis load on the arrivals (ground) level outside baggage claim: metered at $2.95 for the first 1/6 mile, $0.85 per additional 1/6 mile up to one mile, then $0.55 per 1/6 mile, plus a $2.00 airport origination fee and a $15 minimum for trips starting at MIA (30% surcharge for larger SUV/van cabs). Little Havana is only ~5 mi east of MIA, so this is the fastest door-to-door option. Uber/Lyft pick up on both the first (arrivals) and second (departures) levels, check the app for your door number. Festival-day caveat: with SW 8th St closed between SW 12th and 27th Avenues, drop-off is on the perimeter streets (Flagler St and Coral Way are the posted alternates); expect surge pricing at close (7pm) with ~1M attendees

Dense short-stay inventory in East Little Havana, Brickell, downtown and along the Miami River puts many units within walking or one-hop transit distance of the route. Mid-March is Miami's high season (spring-break window, with Ultra and Miami Open later in the month), so expect elevated March weekend rates neighborhood-wide even though the festival itself is a single Sunday, book walkable East Little Havana units early

No camping exists in the urban core, the festival is a closed city street. Hipcamp inventory for greater Miami is out in the Redland/Homestead farm belt and Everglades fringe, ~25-40 mi southwest: private-land tent sites, farm stays and glamping that suit attendees pairing the festival with an outdoors South Florida trip (car needed), not a walkable hotel substitute.
