The October 2024 edition was cancelled due to rising production costs and what organizers called the current volatile festival market. A 2025 or 2026 edition has not been confirmed on the official site since.

What's special
Desert Daze is a boutique psychedelic-rock festival held at the Lake Perris State Recreation Area about an hour east of Los Angeles, built around a stacked, handcrafted niche lineup of psych, indie and experimental acts across a handful of outdoor and indoor stages. Deliberately small in scale and art-first in ethos, it pairs the music with on-site state-park camping, lakeside swimming, and extras like sound baths and yoga. The result is a communal, anti-corporate atmosphere that fans describe as unlike any other festival
What people love
Attendees are effusive about the intimate, art-first community and an unusually friendly, respectful crowd where strangers become weekend friends almost instantly. The state-park camping wins particular praise -- free, clean brick-and-mortar shower and restroom facilities, plentiful water stations and ample shade -- alongside a stacked, curated psych lineup. The recommendation is close to unanimous. The relentless desert sun is the main comfort challenge, and some reviews flag pricey, poorly-signed parking and entry as the weak spot
Last time around (2022)
The 2022 edition at Lake Perris was the festival's most recent held event, remembered as an intimate-yet-epic weekend under relentless Sunday sun that reviewers offset with plentiful shade and water. Camaraderie ran high -- respectful moshing, instant friendships and effusive gratitude -- with one reviewer writing they could not recommend the festival enough. Subsequent editions in 2023 (relocated to Pioneertown) and 2024 were both cancelled, leaving 2022 as the last time Desert Daze actually took place
