Most people drive to FreshGrass | North Adams. The nearest major airport is ALB, and from there it is a straightforward drive to the venue. Check current road and traffic conditions before you set off, and see parking below.
By train
Amtrak's Berkshire Flyer runs seasonal Friday/Sunday weekend service between NYC (Moynihan Train Hall) and Pittsfield, MA, via Albany-Rensselaer NOT through ALB airport itself (nearest Amtrak stop to ALB is Albany-Rensselaer, ~15-20 min taxi from the airport). From Pittsfield, BRTA Route 1 connects to North Adams (~55 min, several daily trips). CAVEAT: the Berkshire Flyer's confirmed 2026 season runs June 12-Sept 19; FreshGrass's confirmed return is Sept 24-26, 2027

Peter Pan runs direct intercity coach service to North Adams (station at 70 N Main St, plus a stop at the BRTA bus shelter) from Boston and New York City confirmed on FreshGrass's own Getting Here page ("Bus service from New York and Boston is available via Peter Pan"). This is NOT a route from ALB airport; it's a fly-into-Boston/NYC-instead or drive-in-then-bus alternative. No direct intercity coach exists from ALB itself to North Adams see the public-transit entry above for the ALB-origin path
Book / info →A multi-leg public transit path exists from Albany (near ALB) to North Adams Center via Pittsfield/Albany Bus Terminal/Colonie Station, per Rome2Rio's routing using published CDTA and BRTA schedules. Monday-Saturday only BRTA runs no Sunday service (exception: Presidents' Day, Patriots' Day), which is a real limitation for a Friday-Sunday festival

Standard curbside pickup at ALB (Albany International). North Adams/MASS MoCA is ~45 miles / ~55min drive east via I-90 and MA-2/Mohawk Trail. This is the most direct single-leg option

Cost Free MASS MoCA and FreshGrass run remote festival parking lots with a continuous shuttle loop, per the festival's official Getting Here page. The City of North Adams separately charges $40 for festival-goers who park in certain in-town city lots closer to the venue (cash/card at the lot, no named prepay platform found). Downtown North Adams is a 5-minute walk from the FreshGrass stages, so many attendees skip driving/parking in favor of walking from in-town lodging. A detailed parking & shuttle map (PDF) is linked from the festival's Getting Here page each year but wasn't independently re-verified for the 2027 edition (paused for 2026)
