The experience

What's special

The High Plains Comedy Festival was Denver's comedian-run alt-comedy festival, founded in 2013 by Adam Cayton-Holland and Andy Juett and staged each September in the bars and theaters of the Baker neighborhood along South Broadway. Modeled in spirit on Portland's Bridgetown Comedy Festival, it paired national headliners like Kyle Kinane, Maria Bamford and Aparna Nancherla with Denver's sharpest locals across stand-up showcases and live podcasts. The final full festival ran September 18-20, 2025, and the founders announced the festival's end in July 2026, with one last farewell show set for November 21, 2026 at the Skylark
