The Lotus World Music & Arts Festival is one of the oldest world-music festivals in the United States and the only festival of its kind in Indiana. Each fall it takes over downtown Bloomington across multiple venues (the 33rd annual runs October 1-4, 2026), programming global performing artists alongside parades, an Arts Village, and extensive free daytime events. The draw is discovery: an eclectic international lineup chosen for cultural range rather than household names, produced by the nonprofit Lotus Education & Arts Foundation and powered heavily by volunteers

The festival is multi venue across downtown Bloomington and is walkable rather than shuttle based, and the organiser states that indoor venues conform to ADA requirements while outdoor tents and parks give street level access.

Terrain at Waldron, Hill and Buskirk Park is paved throughout with sidewalk ramps at all four corners of the park. Accessible parking is listed per venue, for example three accessible spots in the WHB Park lot plus two on Lincoln Street, three accessible spots in the Monroe County Public Library lot, accessible street parking near the Monroe County Courthouse for the 6th Street Stage, and the 4th Street parking garage for the 4th Street Stage and the Waldron Arts Center.
Accessible port-o-lets are provided at the 4th Street and 6th Street outdoor stages, and accessible restrooms are listed at the indoor venues. The Buskirk Chumley Theater has accessible seating on the main floor including a wheelchair area.
Two wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge at the Info Tent on Kirkwood Avenue, and two more at the Park Volunteer and Merchandise Tent for Lotus in the Park, provided by the Mobility Aids Lending Library. Note that the 4th Street Stage, 6th Street Tent and Waldron Hill Buskirk Park offer limited or no audience seating and may be standing room only.

Lotus does not publish ASL interpretation. It does publish two other communication supports. Non verbal communication boards, donated by the Autism Society of Indiana, are available at the Info Tent on Kirkwood Avenue and at the Park Volunteer and Merchandise Tent at Lotus in the Park.
