What's special
This is the smallest kind of event in this branch and one of the most legible. Milk & Honey is an independent witchcraft shop on Main Street in Sebastopol, and once a year in October it clears space and fills the room with readers. The 2026 fair runs on Saturday 3 October from noon, with eight readers working: the shop's owner Phoenix LeFae, who has read since 1995, astrologer and dreamworker Pollyanna Costa, tarot and oracle reader Luna Torres, certified astrologer and author Tenae Stewart, Reclaiming tradition practitioner Wildflower, tarot deck creator Cade Burkhammer, Light Seer deck reader Manjula Pereira, and priestess and Reiki practitioner Camilla Saufley. Every reading is the same length and the same price, so the day is built around trying more than one. Alongside the readings there are book signings, a raffle drawn every hour, and a communal Ancestor Altar that visitors are invited to add a photograph or memento to, which sets the whole thing in the run up to Samhain
What it costs
Two layers, and the unusual thing about this record is that the second layer is the one that is published and the first is not. Layer one, the door, is genuinely unpublished: the shop's Psychic Fair page carries no admission price, no ticket link and no statement that entry is free. That is recorded as UNKNOWN and not converted into free. The reasoning matters, so here it is in full. Several things point towards free walk in entry: the venue is a working retail shop rather than a hired hall, there is no gate to charge at, the only ticket named anywhere on the page is the reading ticket, the shop prices every other event it runs in plain public figures on its own events page, and an independent Sebastopol events calendar described the October 2023 edition of this same fair as free to enter with paid readings. But none of those is this shop saying so about this date, and the branch rule is that silence is not a free sign. Layer two is per reading and is published precisely: $20 for a ten minute tarot reading, sold as a ticket bought inside the shop on the day, with no limit on how many a visitor may buy. That single rate covers all eight readers, which is unusual in this branch, where practitioners normally set their own rates individually. Note that the rate is edition specific, not standing: the 2023 edition was listed at $20 for fifteen minutes, so the same money now buys a shorter reading

What is on offer
A reader interprets a spread of tarot cards with you, usually one to one at a booth or table.

Reading tickets are bought inside the shop on the day, readings run ten minutes each and there is no limit on how many a visitor may buy, so the shop encourages trying several readers. Readings stop at 6 p.m. and the shop's own advice is not to leave joining the queue too late
