How do I get to Rogue Island Comedy Festival?

By car

Most people drive to Rogue Island Comedy Festival. The nearest major airport is PVD, and from there it is a straightforward drive to the venue. Check current road and traffic conditions before you set off, and see parking below.

By train
Amtrak / MBTA Commuter Rail, Providence StationAbout 10 to 15 minutes airport to Providence Station by rail · Amtrak fares vary by booking window; MBTA Commuter Rail zone fare to Boston roughly $12 to $13

T.F. Green has its own airport rail station on the same line as Providence Station, served by Amtrak's Northeast Corridor and Acela and by MBTA Commuter Rail. Useful for travelers connecting from Boston or the wider Northeast Corridor rather than as a direct link to Newport, which has no passenger rail station of its own

By bus & public transit
RIPTA (Rhode Island Public Transit Authority), routes 1, 14, 20 and 66 from T.F. Green AirportAbout 15 to 20 minutes to Kennedy Plaza, plus a further onward leg to Newport · $2.00 single ride, $6.00 unlimited day pass

RIPTA buses 1, 20 and 66 stop on the commercial roadway right in front of the T.F. Green terminal; route 14 stops at the nearby InterLink facility. All connect through Kennedy Plaza in downtown Providence, from which a rider would need a second RIPTA leg or a rideshare on to Newport, so this mainly suits travelers already routing through Providence

Taxi & rideshare
Uber, Lyft, licensed Rhode Island taxisAbout 40 to 50 minutes to downtown Newport · Typically in the $70 to $100 range for the roughly 30 mile trip to downtown Newport, fare estimators only, not festival specific

The most practical door to door option for reaching Newport from the airport. Standard app based pickup from the ground transportation area at T.F. Green, about 45 minutes down Route 4 and Route 138 across the Newport Pell Bridge to downtown Newport

Taxis and rideshare such as Uber and Lyft can be limited near the venue, especially late at night or in rural areas. Agree a pickup point and time in advance and keep a backup plan.

🅿 Parking

Prepay via Passport Parking app (the City of Newport's own mobile payment option). This is a multi-venue city festival across downtown Newport (Stoneacre Garden, Newport Craft Brewing, Jane Pickens Theater) and Middletown (Newport Pickleball Club). The City of Newport operates several public self-pay lots near the downtown venue cluster: the Gateway Parking Lot on America's Cup Avenue behind the Donnelly Gateway Center, the Mary Street lot (reached from Mary Street or Church Street), and the Touro Court lot off Touro Street near Clarke Street. King Park on Wellington Avenue requires a permit. Pay by the city's Passport Parking app or at self-pay stations. Walking between the three downtown venues is easy, all sit within about a 10 to 15 minute walk of each other in the compact historic downtown; the Middletown pickleball club venue is a short drive or rideshare away and not walkable from downtown

🚙 Car hire

Compare car hire at PVD

A rental car helps for covering the Middletown venue (Newport Pickleball Club), which sits apart from the three downtown Newport venues; downtown itself is walkable once parked

Accessibility & comfort

What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.

Disability access

Rogue Island Comedy Festival answers access in its FAQ rather than on an accessibility page, and the answer is that it depends on the room. The festival operates across multiple independent venues, and the organiser states that accessibility varies by venue and that guests should check with the venue directly in advance to confirm ADA access.

Read the full notes

The festival asks people to contact it directly or arrive early to arrange special seating accommodations. Nothing is published on terrain, accessible parking, accessible toilets, companion tickets, ASL or a quiet space, and no venue is individually described

Confirm your specific needs with the organiser's access team before you travel.
