Sea.Hear.Now is a two-day festival on the Asbury Park, New Jersey waterfront, staged literally on the beach and boardwalk with the Atlantic as its backdrop and surfing exhibitions running alongside the music. Co-founded by photographer Danny Clinch, it pairs a mainstream rock and alternative lineup with a strong local Jersey Shore identity, and Bruce Springsteen's home-turf appearances have become part of its lore. The beach setting itself, split between an oceanfront main stage and a nearby park stage, is the festival's signature draw
What people love
Attendees love the oceanfront location and the option to hang back on the sand and boardwalk and simply soak in the music rather than fight for the rail. The park stage in particular draws praise as a less-crowded space with its own bathrooms, food and a lounge. The most persistent criticism from repeat attendees is crowding: many describe the main-stage area as oversold and hard to move through as the day builds, and note that food lines can grow very long on the busier day

The 2025 edition ran September 13-14 on the Asbury Park waterfront and drew roughly 35,000 people a day, with press reporting as many as 70,000 across the weekend. Attendees again praised the beach setting and the quieter park stage, where one described watching Bruce Springsteen from the sand as having plenty of room. The familiar refrain persisted that the main stage felt oversold and difficult to navigate late in the day, and that food lines were long at peak times

Sea.Hear.Now publishes a detailed accessibility section in its official Help Center covering entrances, viewing areas, restrooms, wristbands and mobility devices. The festival says the site is wheelchair accessible but spread over a large outdoor site at North Beach, Bradley Park and Atlantic Park in Asbury Park, with great distances between activities and attractions, travel across city streets and pathways, some travel over natural terrain and terrain designed for motor vehicles, and possible mud if it rains.

The homepage describes three stages, two in the sand and one in the park. Parking is not available on the festival grounds and the organiser points to the City of Asbury Park public parking page; the published accessible drop off address is 115 4th Ave Asbury Park, NJ 07712, with accessible drop off, rideshare or shuttle services depending on venue location.
Accessible entry lanes are marked with the International Symbol of Access. An Access Center just inside the main entrance at Ocean and 5th issues free accessibility wristbands with no medical documentation required and self identification accepted, and also handles ASL registration, assisted listening devices, and charging for powered mobility devices.
Accessible viewing areas are first come, first served, can reach capacity, and a wristband does not guarantee a space. Accessible restrooms are available throughout the grounds, with additional ones possible near designated accessible viewing platforms.
Companion policy: each guest credentialed to the ASL viewing pit or an accessible viewing platform may receive one companion wristband, the companion must hold a valid festival ticket, and the wristband is not admission itself.
The festival states it does not provide wheelchair or scooter rentals, personal care attendants, push assistance, golf cart transportation or personal escort services. Accessibility questions go to [email protected]
ASL interpretation is offered for select performances. Requests for specific performances go through the festival Effective Communication Request Form, with a stated deadline of August 20, 2026, and availability cannot be guaranteed after that.

A schedule of interpreted performances is posted closer to the festival. Guests using ASL services collect an ASL wristband at the Access Center via a registration process conducted in American Sign Language; ASL viewing areas run only during interpreted performances, are first come, first served, and allow one companion per wristbanded guest.
Guests may bring their own interpreter but the interpreter needs a valid paid festival ticket. Assisted Listening Devices are available on request at the Access Center, first come, first served
