What's special

The St. Andrew's Society of Detroit Highland Games are a Michigan tradition dating to 1849, staged the first weekend of August at Greenmead Historical Park in Livonia and billed as the longest continuously running Highland Games in North America. The day brings together world-class athletes in heavy athletics such as the caber toss, a pipe band competition, Highland dance, a Parade of Clans, a genealogy tent, a Celtic marketplace, Scottish food and whisky tastings, opened the night before by a Friday Cèilidh

Beyond the competitions the day offers continuous entertainment from national and regional artists, a diverse Celtic marketplace, Scottish and other food vendors, a Wee Bairns area for children, and whisky tastings in the Alexander Blue House
