The experience

What's special

The World Series of Comedy is a season-long stand-up competition rather than a single weekend: weeklong satellite contests run at comedy clubs across the US and Canada, feeding 101 qualifying comedians into The Main Event, a September festival week in Las Vegas that mixes competitive showcases with seminars and networking among comics, club managers and bookers. Audiences are part of the judging after each comic, the crowd votes 1-5 by phone and the audience score is combined with the judges' scores to crown each show's winner. First held in Pittsburgh in 2003, the festival has grown into one of the biggest working-comic competitions in the country, with winners earning cash, bookings and industry exposure

Last time around (2025)

The 2025 season culminated in the Las Vegas finals week; the format 101 qualifiers from satellite contests, audience-scored showcase rounds, plus seminars and industry networking carried into the 2026 cycle, whose Main Event is billed for Las Vegas, September 20-26, 2026

Accessibility & comfort

What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.

Disability access

The festival organiser publishes no accessibility information of its own. The 2026 Main Event runs at the LA Comedy Club inside The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower, 2000 Las Vegas Boulevard South, and the detail here is the hotel's published policy, not the festival's, and it does not cover the comedy showroom itself.

Read the full notes

The STRAT FAQ states it has both standard rooms and suites that are handicapped accessible, including rooms with wheelchair accessible showers and tubs with shower chairs, and that both wheelchairs and motorized scooters can be rented from the bell desk.

Service animals accompanying a guest are welcome, must be accompanied at all times and kept on a leash. The event is indoors in a casino hotel so terrain is not an issue, but nothing is published about accessible seating in the showroom, accessible toilets in the venue, a companion or carer ticket, ASL interpretation or a quiet space, and the audience is 21 and over at the Main Event because of gaming laws.

Note also that the organiser states it reserves the right to seat all audience members in the club at its discretion, so seating is not chosen by the guest

Checked the official site worldseriesofcomedy.com on 3 Sep 2026, including /themainevent, /hotel, /policies, /more and /aboutus, plus the organiser's older domain theworldseriesofcomedy.com including its Audience Info and Main Event Hotel pages. The festival publishes no accessibility or ADA statement at all: nothing on accessible seating, accessible toilets, companion or carer tickets, ASL or a quiet space. The venue is the LA Comedy Club inside The STRAT, and only the hotel publishes accessibility detail, which covers guest rooms rather than the showroom. For access questions the organiser publishes staff contacts directly on its homepage: Jeremy Danley, VP of Ticketing, who is described as overseeing ticket sales, customer support and event access, on 515 210-0958 or [email protected], and Joe Lowers, President and CEO, on 702 205-9050 or [email protected]. Neither is an access specific route. The STRAT publishes a disability accommodation line on 1-800-99TOWER

Confirm your specific needs with the organiser's access team before you travel.
