Worth knowing before you go
- Seating is general admission, so arriving early matters even though every seat has a clear sightline.
- Personal water bottles and canteens are not allowed in; refill for free at the bar's water station instead.

There is a full bar, plus vegetarian and gluten free empanadas from El Pilón, cookies and brownies from Sweetpea Baking, Tim's potato chips, Warner's pepperoni sticks and mixed nuts to enjoy during the show. A free water station is at the bar.
No outside food or drink is allowed inside, and that includes personal water bottles and canteens. Video taping is not allowed, audio taping and cameras only with the artist's approval and never with flash, so call ahead before bringing equipment. The building is smoke free; you can leave and re-enter to smoke, but purchased drinks stay inside because no open containers are allowed outside.

The room is a mid-size seated listening room with excellent lines of sight and acoustics, where every seat feels close to the stage. The house PA is a Meyer Sound system.

A little history
The Alberta Rose originally opened as a motion picture house in 1927, and the room still radiates the feeling of a Spanish-Colonial courtyard. It now presents music, comedy, circus, film and live performance.
The Biamp Portland Jazz Festival, a two-week multi-venue festival across Portland, uses the Alberta Rose for festival concerts. The 2025 festival ran February 20 to March 1 and presented the Vijay Iyer Trio here on February 28, with 6pm doors and a 7pm pre-show jazz conversation before the 8pm show.
