A little history

Altamont hosted the first annual Albany County Fair in 1893, with harness horse racing in front of the original grandstand. That grandstand is now the poultry building, and the Flower and Fine Arts building is in the final stages of being named to the State and National Register of Historic Sites.

The festival is known for its relaxed atmosphere, with evening concerts each night and over 100 daytime workshops, dances or performances, plus a children's activity area.
