A little history
The park has a Pavilion that can be rented from May through October, though curtain rentals are not currently offered because the existing curtains are too worn to use.
The festival is held at Chassell Township Park every year on the Friday and Saturday following the 4th of July, with live music at the Pavilion after the Saturday parade. It began as a tribute to the Strawberry Growers Association and became the Chassell Lions Club's main fundraiser, with proceeds helping build the town's first fire department in 1946 and later a new fire truck in 1980.
