Los Angeles, California·Outdoor amphitheater and dining venue

Hollywood Bowl

Parking at the Hollywood Bowl is extremely limited and often sells out, so most people arrive by Metro B Line to Hollywood/Highland with the free shuttle, or by Park and Ride and Bowl Shuttle buses from across LA. Gates open two hours before a concert, dining ranges from picnic boxes to street food, and you can bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks as long as containers fit under your seat.

  • You like the idea of a picnic, as long as it fits the container size limit.

  • You were planning to drive and park right at the venue without booking ahead.
  • You wanted to bring your own alcohol to a Lease Event.

Getting there and parking

Parking at the Hollywood Bowl is extremely limited and stacked, and can sell out in advance, so it is worth purchasing parking ahead of time. As a courtesy to neighbors, do not park in the surrounding streets, which can mean a costly parking ticket.

The easiest way to reach the Bowl by public transit is the Metro B Line to the Hollywood/Highland Metro Station, then the free Bowl shuttle from Ovation Hollywood with a valid Metro TAP card or GoMetro Round-Trip Pass. Park and Ride buses also run from locations across LA County, and a separate Bowl Shuttle serves Ventura Boulevard, the LA Zoo, Burbank Metrolink and Ovation Hollywood.

Gates open two hours before the start of a concert, and the Bowl suggests arriving at least 90 minutes before the performance. Exterior park areas, including the parking lots, are open 8am to 6pm on most days.

Food, water and what you can bring

The Bowl offers dining from preordered picnic boxes and sit-down restaurants to grab-and-go street food, and all dining purchases are cashless.

You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks, but all containers, picnic baskets and coolers must fit under your seat or inside your box, and nothing wider than 15 inches, taller than 15 inches or longer than 22 inches is allowed past the ticket gate. Outside alcohol is not permitted at Lease Events, where only factory-sealed non-alcoholic plastic bottles of one liter or less may be brought in.
