A little history

Peoples Natural Gas Park opened in 2012 with the help of a two million dollar grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and a lead gift from Peoples Natural Gas. The festival's roots go back to 1989, when Heritage Johnstown produced a centennial commemoration of the Great Johnstown Flood of 1889 in the Cambria City neighborhood, and the festival moved to a plot of land next to downtown in 2004 before that land became the park.

The park includes a pavilion stage, the Community Foundation Oilhouse, and electricity and internet service, and it is the year round home of the festival and other special events.
