The Crocodile
The Crocodile is a three-storey indoor music venue at 2505 1st Avenue in Belltown, Seattle, with a 750-capacity showroom, a 300-capacity room, a 96-seat theater called Here-After, a restaurant and a 17-room hotel. The showroom is standing room only, there is no venue parking, and reusable water bottles, backpacks over 12 by 12 by 8 inches and outside food and drink are all turned away at the door. Re-entry is for over-21s only, and only when a show is not one in, one out.

Worth knowing before you go
- Reusable water bottles count as prohibited containers, along with cans, bottles and glass, so drink before you queue.
- Bags larger than 12 by 12 by 8 inches stay outside; smart lockers at every show cost $6 or $10 and fit vinyl and posters.
- Re-entry is for over-21s only, is suspended when a show is one in, one out, and always means a fresh security screening. Under-21s get no re-entry at all.
- Madame Lou's is reached by a ramp in the alley: tell security at the Wall Street entrance and they will open it.
- The hotel upstairs has no ramp or elevator, so it is not wheelchair accessible.

Getting there and parking
The Crocodile is at 2505 1st Avenue, on the corner of 1st and Wall Street in Belltown. There is no venue lot: the Crocodile partners with SpotHero for nearby garage bookings, street parking is available around the neighbourhood, and the venue encourages Seattle public transit.
The box office is on the corner of 1st and Wall under the historic sign, open for advance sales Tuesday to Friday from noon to 5pm and from 30 minutes before doors on show nights, with a $2 per ticket fee for in-person purchases. Most tickets are emailed and scanned at the door; will call needs the purchaser present with valid ID.
Accessibility
The Crocodile Showroom and The Society are at street level and wheelchair accessible through the building's front entrance. Madame Lou's is reached by a ramp in the alley, opened when you alert security at the main entrance on Wall Street, and Here-After is wheelchair accessible via its alley entrance with ADA seating for the theater on request. ADA requests for accessible viewing go to [email protected].
The Crocodile Hotel upstairs is not wheelchair accessible by ramp or elevator because of the historic building. Unless an event is listed as seated or partially seated, the showroom is standing only, Madame Lou's is standing with very limited seating, and Here-After is a seated theater.

Food, water and what you can bring
Food is served from 6pm to 10pm on show days, and the venue suggests arriving early for a drink or a bite in Here-After or The Society before heading into the room.
Cans, bottles, glass and any containers including reusable water bottles are prohibited, as are outside food and drink; outside alcohol means immediate removal. Backpacks or bags over 12 by 12 by 8 inches, recording equipment including smart glasses and GoPros, weapons of any kind, skateboards, drones, laser pointers and noisemakers are also banned. Smart lockers are available at every show for $6 and $10.
Sound and sensory
Camera policy varies by artist. The usual rule is no flash photography and no professional or detachable-lens cameras without venue approval, and no audio or video recording equipment. Full face coverings are not allowed, and staff must be able to match your face to your government ID.

A little history
The Crocodile Cafe opened at 2200 2nd Avenue on April 30, 1991, hosted Nirvana's last show there under the name Pen Cap Chew in 1992, closed in September 2007 and reopened in 2009 under new owners including Alice in Chains drummer Sean Kinney. In November 2020 it announced a move a few blocks to the former Sailors' Union of the Pacific lodge at 1st Avenue and Wall Street, reopening there in fall 2021 across three storeys with the 750-capacity showroom, a 300-capacity room, the 96-seat theater, a restaurant and a 17-room hotel.
