A little history

The School of the Arts is based in the Church Fine Arts building, completed in 1960 and named after James Edward Church, founder of what is now the Nevada Museum of Art. The Department of Art, Art History and Design traces back to 1905, when Katherine Lewers was hired to teach drawing.
