Bio
Altan are an Irish traditional band formed in County Donegal in 1987 by fiddler-singer Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh and her late husband, flautist Frankie Kennedy. Rooted in Donegal's Irish-language songs and twin-fiddle style, they became one of the first traditional Irish groups signed to a major label and have sold over a million records. Their long-running lineup includes Ciaran Curran, Mark Kelly, Martin Tourish and Clare Friel
