Bio
Bacilos are a Latin pop band formed in 1997 by three University of Miami students: Colombian singer-guitarist Jorge Villamizar, Brazilian bassist Andre Lopes and Puerto Rican percussionist Jose Javier Freire. Fusing English-language pop and rock with salsa, tropical and other Latin styles, they won the 2003 Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album with 'Caraluna' and several Latin Grammys, including one for the song 'Mi Primer Millon.' After disbanding in the mid-2000s, they reunited in 2017 and continue recording
