Bio

Damian Marley, known as Jr. Gong, is a Jamaican reggae, dancehall, and reggae fusion artist born in Kingston in 1978, the youngest son of Bob Marley and Cindy Breakspeare. He is a four-time Grammy winner, taking Best Reggae Album for Halfway Tree (2002) and for Stony Hill (2018), and winning both Best Reggae Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance in 2006 for Welcome to Jamrock. His 2010 collaborative album with Nas, Distant Relatives, explored themes of African diasporic connection and remains a career highlight.
