Bio

Geraldine is a Maryland-based country-leaning string band that blends old-time, bluegrass and American folk into what they call a "new time stringband" sound, built around the songwriting of guitarist John Bolten (who named the band after Townes Van Zandt's dog). The group features Jonathan Vocke on banjo, Josh Anderson on fiddle and Jocelyn Haversat on upright bass and percussion, keeping time with a washboard kit and a cornmeal-coated dance board rather than drums. They have released two albums of originals, Harvester (2019) and Paw Paw (2023), with songs earning honors in national songwriting contests
