John Primer is an American Chicago blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter born in 1945 in Mississippi. He served as a longtime sideman and bandleader for Muddy Waters and Magic Slim before launching his own group, the Real Deal Blues Band, in the mid-1990s, and he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2023.
