Robert Earl Keen is an American singer-songwriter born in Houston, Texas, in 1956, widely regarded as a pioneer of Texas country and Americana. A friend and college contemporary of Lyle Lovett at Texas A&M University, he is known for narrative songs such as 'The Road Goes on Forever.'
