Bio
Sam (Samuel) Farthing is a young Baltimore-based guitarist, composer and educator specializing in jazz manouche and gypsy jazz. He began on classical guitar at age ten, gravitated to Django Reinhardt's Sinti swing at thirteen, and has studied and performed with top gypsy-jazz guitarists including Stochelo and Mozes Rosenberg, Fapy Lafertin, and Tchavolo Schmitt. He has appeared at festivals such as the Festival Django Reinhardt in France, Django a Gogo, and DjangoFest Northwest
