Bio
Shpongle is a psychedelic duo formed in 1996 by English producer Simon Posford and Australian flautist Raja Ram, considered one of the progenitors of the psybient genre. The project began after the pair viewed a solar eclipse in India and tried to duplicate the experience in sound, blending traditional world music and vocals with synthesizer-based psychedelic electronica. Posford handles production and synthesizers while Raja Ram contributes flute and conceptual inspiration; their debut album "Are You Shpongled?" arrived in 1998 on Twisted Records
