The War and Treaty is an American husband-and-wife duo consisting of singer-songwriters Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter, from Albion, Michigan. Their music spans Americana, Southern soul, blues, folk, gospel, country, and R&B. Active as the War and Treaty since 2014, they released their debut album Healing Tide in 2018 and later earned Grammy and CMA nominations
