Trombone Shorty is the stage name of Troy Andrews, a trombonist, trumpeter, and singer born in 1986 in the Tremé neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. A child prodigy who studied at NOCCA, he leads the band Orleans Avenue, blending jazz, funk, rock, and hip-hop into a sound he calls 'supafunkrock.'
