The experience
What's special
The Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival is Las Vegas's Renaissance faire, produced by Clark County at Sunset Park and reaching its 32nd annual edition in 2026. The park becomes a collection of themed villages and guilds - a pirate's port, Celtic pub stages, a royal court - with live jousting by the Seattle Knights, a pirate stunt spectacular at the Captain's Challenge stage, fire performers, Celtic bands, a nationally billed bird-of-prey show, and working blacksmith and papermaking demonstrations. It is a distinctly civic institution: inducted into the Las Vegas Magazine Hall of Fame in 2025 for its long-term impact on the city's tourism and entertainment industry, capacity-capped at 25,000 people in the park at once, with a Free School Day program and promotional free Friday tickets circulated through county community centers. On-site camping - including bell-tent and yurt glamping packages with a private campground - turns the weekend into an overnight event.
What people love
Attendees praise the costumes and performances, the sense of community, and the range of things to do - jousting, belly dancing, camel rides, an archery range where activities stay cheap, and food stalls from turkey legs to meat pies. Regulars describe returning year after year, and many call it a great faire with one large caveat: the heat. The October weekend often lands on 90-plus-degree days at a park with very little shade, and the loudest community complaints center on sun exposure, the one-sealed-bottle water limit, and no-re-entry for single-day tickets; many recommend arriving from late afternoon. Other recurring gripes are difficult parking, long ATM lines at a largely cash-preferred vendor market, and merchandise and food prices that run well above expectations, even as gate admission itself stays modest.
Last time around
The 2025 festival returned to Sunset Park October 10-12, 2025, previewed by local television ahead of the weekend, and was followed by the festival's induction into the Las Vegas Magazine Hall of Fame and a bronze Best Family Attraction award in Fox5Vegas's inaugural Viewer's Choice Awards.

Costumes & what to wear
Do I need a costume?
Costumes are a visible part of the event and attendee outfits draw praise, but they are optional. The practical caveat is Las Vegas heat: the October weekend regularly runs hot at an open desert park with little shade, and regulars describe struggling to wear full garb midday, with corsets and coats becoming uncomfortable, light layers or an evening visit make dressing up far more manageable
Weapons policy
Firearms are prohibited in the park regardless of permit. No weapons are allowed in the campground
Joining in
An immersive Renaissance-era experience organized around themed villages and guilds, with live jousting, sword fights, archery, blacksmith and papermaking demonstrations, historical reenactments, and interactive stage shows, from a hands-on juggling school to magic shows that pull audience members up as assistants. No outside busking is allowed; all performers are hired in advance, and no outside musical instruments may be brought in by the public

How do I get to Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival?
By bus 1
Greyhound and FlixBus both serve Las Vegas, the main terminal moved to 4047 Ponderosa Way (off W Oquendo Rd) in January 2026, which is only about 3 miles west of Sunset Park, with a Downtown stop on S 1st St also retained. From the Ponderosa Way terminal, the park is a short rideshare away. No passenger rail reaches Las Vegas: Amtrak service ended in 1997, and the Brightline West high-speed line is still under construction (target late 2029)

RTC residential routes run daily, including the festival's Friday-Sunday weekend

🚙 Car hire
Compare car hire at LAS
Optional here rather than essential, the festival is minutes from the LAS rental counters and rideshare is cheap for the short hop. A rental earns its keep if you're pairing the weekend with wider Nevada trips (Red Rock, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam) or hauling camping gear
