A week-long old-time mountain-music camp on the Mars Hill University campus in Mars Hill, North Carolina. Each day offers an intensive morning class in fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, singing or mountain dulcimer, plus a la carte afternoon mini-classes, nightly instructor concerts, abundant jam sessions, and a Friday square dance to close the week. It is pitched as an inclusive space for players of all ages and skill levels

Book / info →ART's S3 route serves Asheville Regional Airport directly (stop at the ground-transportation center, 'Asheville Regional Airport / Wright Brothers Way') and runs to the downtown ART Station at 49 Coxe Ave via Hendersonville Rd / Biltmore Village, 11 weekday trips, 10 Saturday, 8 Sunday. Single ride is $1.00, paid in exact-change cash onboard (drivers cannot make change); 11-ride booklets ($9) and monthly passes ($20) sold at the ART Station. IMPORTANT: ART does not reach Mars Hill, the town is ~18 mi north of downtown Asheville in Madison County, outside ART's service area, and Madison County Transportation Authority (MCTA) is a weekday demand-response service for Madison County residents (call-ahead, 828-649-0729), not an airport connector. So public transit gets you airport-to-downtown-Asheville only; the last ~18 mi to campus is a rideshare/taxi leg (~$35-55 est.)

Uber and Lyft both operate at Asheville Regional Airport, follow signs to Ground Transportation / Baggage Claim, then the designated 'TNC/Rideshares' passenger-pickup area (the airport has been relocating its ground-transportation pickup to the north end of Shuttle Lot South, check signage on arrival). Taxis and flat-rate car services also serve the airport. AVL to Mars Hill University is roughly 26 mi / ~30-35 min via I-26 W then US-19/23 N. Asheville proper has good driver density, but Mars Hill is a small college town, the return leg back to the airport can involve a wait; allow extra time or schedule the ride ahead

Temporary visitor permits are issued free from the Office of Safety and Security (or the security/parking officer on duty; after hours call 828-689-1230), and campus lots use painted-space designations (visitor/white spaces vs. green faculty-staff and blue accessible spaces). No paid or prepaid parking platform (ParkMobile/SpotHero/etc.) is used. Residential attendees staying in on-campus housing for the week keep cars on campus under the same permit system, confirm week-specific lot assignments with BROTMW registration (828-689-1167)
