The experience
What's special
Boardwalk Rock puts a rock and metal festival on the oceanfront in Ocean City, Maryland, with more than 40 bands across three stages, two on the beach and one along the boardwalk. Korn, Bad Omens and Iron Maiden headline the 2027 edition, which runs May 14 to 16. The grounds take in Ocean City Inlet Beach and part of the boardwalk, so the Jolly Roger at the Pier amusement park, with its rides and games, sits between the stages, and boardwalk restaurants, bars and shops operate inside the festival footprint. The festival debuted in 2025, skipped 2026 and returns in 2027.
How it works
Three-day general admission starts at $349, and one-day general admission is from $179 for Friday, Saturday or Sunday. GA+ adds a shaded lounge and air-conditioned restrooms from $579, VIP is from $959 and Platinum from $2,650. Gates open at 12 pm and close at 11 pm each day, and re-entry is allowed until 7 pm. The site is cashless, chairs and coolers are not allowed, and layaway plans start at $25 down on general admission.
Who it suits
It suits rock and metal fans who want a beach weekend and are happy to stand outdoors for long days. The festival is all ages, and children 8 and under are free with a ticketed adult on every pass except Platinum. Expect sand, sun and a cashless site, and plan to walk, bike or take public transport in from the park-and-ride lots, since there is no parking near the grounds.
