The experience

What's special

Brujeria Carnaval is a Halloween-themed Latin dance congress held in New Orleans' French Quarter at the Astor Crowne Plaza. It blends salsa, bachata, kizomba, zouk, hustle and swing with workshops, DJ sets, artist performances, a costume ball, a Dia de los Muertos theme and a scavenger hunt billed as 'the biggest Halloween dance party around.' The identity is a social-dance travel weekend wrapped in Mardi Gras and Halloween spectacle

Last time around (2025)

The most recent held edition ran October 2, 5, 2025 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in the French Quarter: a Halloween weekend of dance workshops, nonstop social dancing, DJ sets, performances, a costume contest and themed parties. Independent attendee-level detail for the edition is scarce beyond the organizer's own materials

🚙 Car hire

Compare car hire

Not recommended for this festival it is a hotel-based French Quarter dance congress with airport-shuttle, streetcar and walkable access, and downtown parking is pricey and scarce over Halloween weekend. A car only suits attendees touring beyond the city

Airbnb & private camping
Airbnb

New Orleans has a large short-term-rental market (French Quarter, Marigny, CBD, Treme). CRITICAL for this festival: the Oct 29-Nov 2 dates fall over Halloween weekend, one of NOLA's biggest tourism peaks expect steep surge pricing, minimum-night stays and early sell-out. Book far ahead

Hipcamp

Hipcamp options near New Orleans are sparse and rural (across Lake Pontchartrain or in the bayou parishes), a drive from downtown not a realistic substitute for a French Quarter hotel for a hotel-based dance congress
