Clarksdale Caravan Music Fest

Amtrak's City of New Orleans stops at Marks, MS an unstaffed open-air platform at 285 Cherry St (opened 2018) about 18 mi east of Clarksdale. The southbound train #59 leaves Memphis Central Station (downtown Memphis, ~12 mi from the MEM terminal) very early and reaches Marks in the morning (timetable shows ~6:27 AM arrival; Quitman County's own Amtrak page says ~8:00 AM the schedule has shifted repeatedly, so check your date). Northbound #58 calls at Marks in the evening (~8:30 PM per the county page). Critically, Marks has NO ticket office, no passenger assistance, and no connecting transit you must pre-arrange a pickup or taxi for the last 18 mi to Clarksdale. Viable for rail fans; the bus is the simpler option

Direct intercity bus from Memphis to Clarksdale, ~72 mi down US-61. Conveniently for fly-ins, the Memphis bus station is at 3033 Airways Blvd right in the airport district, a ~5 minute rideshare/taxi hop from the MEM terminal rather than a trip into downtown Memphis. Arrives at the Clarksdale Bus Station, 1604 State St, about a mile (20-25 min walk or short local taxi) from the downtown festival stages. Greyhound lists 2 daily departures, but both are early morning (roughly 5:35 AM and 9:00 AM), so plan around that there is no evening bus option for a same-day arrival after a midday flight

Uber and Lyft both operate at Memphis International with a designated app-ride pickup area (see the airport's rideshare page). The run to Clarksdale is ~68-78 mi / about 1h 15m, 1h 30m straight down US-61. Both apps nominally operate in Clarksdale too, but driver supply in the Delta is thin attendees repeatedly warn that getting a car OUT of Clarksdale (return leg or late night) is unreliable, so pre-book the return. The city's own visitor page points to local operator Clarksdale Limo (662-400-8665) and Memphis-area limo/charter services (e.g. Oxford Executive Transportation meets flights at baggage claim) as the dependable pre-arranged alternatives

Clarksdale is a small town with a modest but unusually characterful short-term-rental stock blues-themed flats, historic homes and shack conversions, many bookable on Airbnb as well as direct (the city's lodging directory lists a dozen-plus such properties). The Caravan Fest is free and one day, so it doesn't drive Coachella-style surge, but it is deliberately timed to the weekend after the Blues Music Awards in Memphis and blues pilgrims linger the best downtown units go early for that weekend. Book well ahead rather than expecting walk-up availability

Hipcamp has genuine, on-theme private-land camping near Clarksdale most notably Stovall Gin Quiet Rural RV/Camp, ~8 mi out on the historic Stovall farm where Muddy Waters grew up (14 tent/RV sites with electric hookups, pecan groves), which is about as thematically perfect a basecamp as a blues fest can get. Further-out options include Meeks Estate (~26 mi, 20 tent/RV sites) and glamping/RV sites toward Enid Lake (~41 mi). All require a car; none has any transit link to downtown
