Colorado Springs Ink Masters Tattoo Expo's next dates haven't been announced yet. The last festival was 9 to 11 October 2026 in Colorado Springs, CO. Froligo tracks current ticket prices, attendee feedback and travel details.
One stop on a circuit of 18 conventions run to the same format by Ink Masters Tattoo Show.
Age, licensing and hygiene
Three layers, kept apart. The single BBP certificate line is the ORGANIZER's, published circuit-wide on a form serving every stop and not written for Colorado Springs. The temporary event licensing, hygiene, consent and minor-client requirements are EL PASO COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH regulations, read from the county's own current regulation document rather than any summary, and they bind this event because of where it is held. The parental consent rule is COLORADO STATE statute. Nothing here is an inference about how clean this particular show will be: no inspection of it has been observed, no licence for it has been sighted, and the organizer makes no inspection claim
Read the house rule and the state law separately, because they do not match and the house rule is the stricter one. THE ORGANIZER's rule, published twice, is 'Must be 18 and over with a valid Government Issued ID for Tattoo Services or Raffle', while entry itself is all ages with under 16s free and any child accompanied by an adult. COLORADO LAW is looser than that: C.R.S. 25-4-2103 is titled Parental consent for minors and provides that no body artist shall perform a body art procedure on a minor without express consent from the minor's parent or guardian, failure being a petty offence carrying a $250 fine. So Colorado does NOT bar tattooing under 18s outright; it conditions it on parental consent. El Paso County then attaches heavy paperwork to that consent: for a minor client the consent form must carry the parent or guardian's name, address and phone, plus a statement signed IN PERSON ONSITE by that parent or guardian attesting to their status and giving permission, a copy made onsite of the parent or guardian's original state or federal photo ID, a copy made onsite of the minor's original state, federal or school issued photo ID, a copy made onsite of any court-issued letter of guardianship, and further documentation of the relationship if the names or addresses do not match. The practical answer for a visitor to THIS show is still 18 with photo ID, because that is the organizer's own rule at the booth, but the difference is worth knowing and must not be copied from a state such as Mississippi where the under-18 bar is absolute
This is the strongest part of the record and it comes from the county, not the promoter. The ORGANIZER publishes exactly one line: 'All Artist and Piercers must have an approved BBP Certificate', on its artist inquiry form, with a link to a list of approved bloodborne pathogens courses. EL PASO COUNTY requires far more, and requires it of the SHOW as well as of the artists. Every body art temporary event held in the county that offers body art to the public must hold a licence and comply with the El Paso County Board of Health Chapter 6 Body Art Regulations. A temporary event is defined in those regulations as a body art trade show or convention of up to seven consecutive days at which artists work outside a permanent establishment, which is precisely this show. The event coordinator must file a complete temporary event application with fees at least 30 days ahead, after which the county conducts a PRE-OPENING INSPECTION and issues the licence only on a finding of compliance. The licence is valid only for the named location and must be posted prominently and conspicuously visible to patrons, so a visitor can look for it at the door. The coordinator must also ensure every artist working the event has completed infectious disease control training in their home jurisdiction within the previous two years and is affiliated with a body art establishment licensed either in their home jurisdiction or, by written sponsorship agreement, by El Paso County. Separately, artists working in the county must hold current First Aid certification through the Red Cross or American Heart Association, OSHA-approved bloodborne pathogens training, a hepatitis B vaccination record or signed declination, and a Body Art Regulations Competency Exam certificate. Nothing here has been confirmed as applied for or granted for the October 2026 expo; it is what the law requires of it. The county publishes an inspection-report lookup and a licensed-establishment search, and takes complaints on [email protected] or (719) 578-3199 option 3
The ORGANIZER publishes no sterilisation, single use, sharps or workstation standard of any kind. The county's regulations are detailed and they apply on this floor. At a temporary event specifically, ALL instruments used for a body art procedure must be single use and commercially sterilised, which is a tighter rule than applies in a permanent studio. Where permanent hand washing is not readily accessible, artists must use commercially manufactured temporary hand washing stations approved by the county in advance, capable of a continuous flow of warm potable water, with soap and paper towels, used only for hand washing and sited so they cannot contaminate a workstation; a single shared station may serve no more than two artists and only with county approval, and waste water must be collected in a sanitary container and disposed of into an approved sewage system. Generally, all needles must be sterile, single use and manufactured for the purpose, and disposed of in a sharps container immediately after use; sterilised instruments must stay in sealed packages until opened in front of the client; every substance must be dispensed so the unused portion cannot be contaminated and used for one client only; and all dispensed substances and disposables must be discarded immediately after each procedure. If a temporary event falls out of compliance at any time, the county may require it to cease operations immediately. None of this has been confirmed as inspected at this specific event
The organizer publishes no consent form and no aftercare guidance. The county requires both from the artist. Every procedure needs a consent form signed by client and artist recording the client's name, address, phone and AGE, the date, the establishment and artist details, a description of the body art and where it went, and the sterilisation date and sterilizer log lot number of the instruments used. Each client must first be asked to disclose diabetes, haemophilia or other bleeding disorders, skin diseases or lesions, immune-compromised status, allergies or adverse reactions to latex, pigments, dyes, disinfectants, soaps or metals, and any use of anticoagulants or other blood thinning medication. The form must also document that written AND verbal instructions on risks, outcome and aftercare were given, covering when to consult a physician including the signs of infection and allergic reaction and the expected healing time, how to care for the site, an explanation that body art should be considered permanent, and possible side effects. A copy of the signed form must be given to the client, and client records and consent forms are kept three years. Expect to be asked to fill this in; if an artist skips it, that is a compliance failure and not a favour
Nothing published by the organizer or the venue: no bag policy, security screening, first aid provision or incident procedure. The county requires each establishment to hold written infection and exposure control procedures on the premises, permanently retained, along with sharps and regulated-waste disposal contracts and spore test logs, all open to inspection
Colorado regulates body art at state level under C.R.S. 25-4-2101 et seq., which expressly lets a local board of health impose standards AT LEAST AS STRINGENT as the state's. El Paso County has done so, adopting Chapter 6 Body Art Regulations, approved 28 October 2020 and amended since. That makes El Paso County Public Health's Environmental Health Division, at 1675 W Garden of the Gods Road Suite 2044, the authority for this show. It is a materially stronger position than the same promoter's Jackson, Mississippi stop, where regulation is state-only, there is no event licence at all, and the accountability rests entirely on each artist's individual state certificate. It is closest in shape to the Wilmington Board of Health arrangement documented on the Boston record
The organiser publishes nothing on Any organizer statement on single-use needles, ink, sharps containers or workstation barriers, Any confirmation that the temporary event licence for October 2026 has been applied for or granted, Any organizer consent form or aftercare sheet and Any first aid, medical or security arrangement. Ask the artist you are booking with, and expect a licensed booth to answer without hesitating.

What's special
The Ink Masters circuit's Colorado Springs stop returns to the Colorado Springs Event Center on Palmer Park Boulevard from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October 2026, moving to autumn after three May editions. It is a walk-up floor rather than a booked one: artists and piercers work on the spot across a single 40,000 square foot hall for all three days, and the organizer's claim is over 200 of them covering realism, traditional, black and grey and colour. Around that sits a twenty category contest programme judged at 7:30pm on Friday and Saturday and 6:00pm on Sunday, at $10 per tattoo entered with no limit, and a free daily raffle giving away two tattoos a day with the artist of the winner's choice. Admission is at the door only, $25 for a day or $40 for the weekend, with $5 off either on Friday before 5pm, and under 16s free with a parent. Hours are 1pm to 10pm on Friday and noon to 10pm on Saturday and Sunday, published by the venue as well as the organizer. Anyone being tattooed or pierced must be 18 with government issued photo ID under the organizer's rule, and the show itself needs a temporary event licence from El Paso County Public Health, which inspects before it opens
What happens on the floor
Pieces go on in the open, start to finish. You can watch, and talk to artists between clients.
Finished and same-day work is judged on stage in named categories, usually late in the day.
Piercers work alongside the tattoo booths. The same questions apply: age, ID, sterilisation and aftercare.
Machines, inks, aftercare, art and clothing. Aimed at artists, but open to anyone through the door.
Getting tattooed here
Admission gets you through the door, not into a chair. Tattoo work is arranged with the artist, not with the show.
No booking system, artist directory or contact route is published, so there is no way to pre-book from the official site
Walk up is the model. The organizer's pitch is 'Live tattooing all weekend by over 200 award winning tattoo artists' working 'all different styles from realism, traditional, black and grey, to color tattoos', with no appointment and no guarantee of availability on the day
Who is tattooing
No artist roster has been published for this edition, so there is no way to pick an artist in advance from the official pages.
There is no roster, and it is the largest gap on the record. The organizer publishes no artist list, no booth map, no Instagram handles and no studio names, for Colorado Springs or for any of its eighteen other stops. The site is eight content pages plus an event archive and none of them is an artists page. The only artist information published in advance is a headcount, 'over 200 award winning tattoo artists', which is unverifiable, is repeated verbatim on other cities' pages, and is the kind of claim a reader should discount accordingly. One useful contrast: at this same venue in October 2024 a rival promoter, Villain Arts, did publish named headliners for its own show. Ink Masters does not
Contests and judging
20 categories are judged across the weekend. Judging pulls the whole floor to the stage, so it is the best hour of the day to watch even if you are not entering.

How entries work
Entry $10 per tattoo per piece.
Entry is $10 per tattoo with no cap: the organizer invites artists to 'submit as many tattoos as you'd like across multiple categories'. Sign-up is in person at the show. The canvas, meaning the person wearing the tattoo, must be present to be critiqued by three judges, and nobody may name the artist until the award is presented. Best of the Day entries must have been started AND finished at the show that same day; the two Best of Show categories must have been started and finished at the show across the weekend
How entries work
Entry Free with paid admission per piece.
Run on all three days. Two free tattoos are raffled each day, which the organizer values at $1,200 across the weekend, and the winner chooses any attending artist. Sign-ups start at noon each day; winners are called at 4pm and 6pm, and at 3pm and 5pm on Sunday. You must be present to win, and 18 or over with a valid ID

Also running
- Live on-the-spot tattooingContinuous across all three days rather than scheduled
- Live piercingAdvertised circuit-wide as part of the format. No piercer roster, price or separate age rule is published
What it costs
Admission is the only price the show sets. NO tattoo prices are published and none should be inferred. Each artist sets their own rate at their own booth, and the organizer gives no guidance figure, minimum or hourly range for this show. The only dollar amount attached to tattooing anywhere on the page is the $1,200 the organizer says the weekend's raffled free tattoos are worth, which is a giveaway valuation, not a price. Walk up work is the format and the cost is whatever the artist you approach charges. Budget it as an unknown.
Extras, bought separately
Tattoo competition entry: A contest entry fee, not admission and not the price of a tattoo
If you are exhibiting
Booth and vendor fees are what the show charges artists and traders. They are not visitor prices.
No booth price is published. Artists go through an inquiry form and are quoted privately. Artist side, not a visitor price
The same: the vendor inquiry form carries no price and no booth specification. Trader side, not a visitor price
Every gate price here is a door price. There is no online sale, so no booking fees, and equally no way to lock a price in advance. Two categories of money on this record are NOT visitor prices and are fenced above: the $10 contest entry, and the county licensing that sits on the event coordinator and the artists
The market and the food
The market floor carries circuit sponsors, not confirmed as Colorado Springs exhibitors.
Nothing published. The organizer says nothing about food. The venue advertises food services as part of its general capability but does not say what opens for this event
Hours and the floor
A standalone event hall on Palmer Park Boulevard in central Colorado Springs, roughly halfway between downtown and Palmer Park. The operator describes its business as trade show hosting plus consumer expos and private functions; its neighbours on the calendar in the same season are a consignment sale, a home show, an oddity market and a bridal expo
Laid out as {'name': 'Main exhibition floor', 'note': 'Trade listings for the venue describe 40,000 square feet of maximum exhibit space on a single floor with a 16 foot ceiling and capacity for up to 400 booths. Directory-sourced rather than a venue statement, and not confirmed as the configuration used for this show.', 'src': 'https://www.coloradospringseventcenter.com/'}.
Indoor and single level, which is the main comfort fact worth knowing: no stairs between halls and no weather exposure. Colorado Springs sits above 6,000 feet, so visitors arriving from sea level should expect the usual altitude effects on a long day standing, and should not be sitting for a large tattoo dehydrated

Accessibility & comfort
What the organiser or venue publishes about getting around, and what they do not.
Two separate rules. ENTRY: all ages welcome, under 16s free, but a child must be with a parent or accompanying adult. GETTING TATTOOED OR PIERCED: the organizer's rule is 18 and over with a valid government issued ID, and the raffle carries the same rule.
Note that the organizer's 18 and over rule is STRICTER than Colorado law, which permits a minor to be tattooed with express parental consent. At this show the organizer's rule is the one that applies at the booth
