The Covenanter Scottish Festival and Highland Games is a one-day celebration of Scottish heritage on the grounds of the oldest Covenanter church in North America, in Quarryville, Pennsylvania. A full nine-event heavy athletics competition anchors the day, with caber, stone and hammer events plus the festival's own Braveheart Sword Throw, an EUSPBA-sanctioned solo piping and drumming competition, Highland dancing, clan tents, sheep and duck herding, an Address to a Haggis and Celtic folk music

Heavy athletics
The Highland Games host a traditional heavy athlete competition for men, women and multiple classes, with nine events including the Open Stone, Braemar Stone, light and heavy weight for distance, light and heavy hammer, weight over bar, caber and sheaf, plus the festival's own Braveheart Sword Throw
Pipe bands & Highland dance
The festival runs a solo piping and drumming competition sanctioned by the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association, spanning grades from novice through Grade 1, alongside pipe and drum band performances and Highland dancing
Clans & genealogy
Scottish clans and societies gather at the festival, and clans are invited to register and set up clan tents
Taking part
Beyond the competitions, the day features sheep and duck herding demonstrations, an Address to a Haggis, a Highland cow, spinning and weaving demonstrations, Scottish Country dance, Welsh choirs, Irish dancing and Celtic folk music
