The experience

What's special

Force Fields is an alien-themed EDM festival at the Chippewa Valley Music Festivals grounds in Cadott, Wisconsin, a 365-acre site with permanent infrastructure a short drive northeast of Eau Claire. Launched in 2025 and returning for a second edition in 2026, it leans toward bass and dubstep-driven electronic acts across multiple stages, wrapped in an ongoing sci-fi storyline (the 'Hayliens', Episodes I and II) and built around an on-site campground of 7,500 walkable campsites. It is produced by Chippewa Valley Music Festivals, the family-run operator behind the same grounds' long-running country and rock festivals

What people love

Attendees repeatedly single out Force Fields as an exceptional value, describing the ticket price relative to the lineup, production and amenities as unusually low for the scale of the event. The on-site camping and overall logistics draw particular praise, with fans calling it among the best-organized camping they have experienced and highlighting easy entry, short waits and a welcoming crowd; the artist curation is also frequently cited as a standout

Last time around

The most recently held edition ran in 2026 as the festival's second outing, with its artist lineup announced in early January 2026. Attendees described strong production, a large main stage, laser and drone-show elements and a notably relaxed, friendly atmosphere, while common critiques centered on long lines at water and shower stations during peak heat, the cleanliness of some portable toilets, and a lack of early-morning food and coffee options for campers. The one-tent-per-campsite rule, tied to local permitting, was enforced
