What's special

The Garrett County Celtic Festival & Highland Games is a one-day Celtic celebration on the bonnie banks of the Youghiogheny River in Friendsville, Maryland, running since 1988. Mid-Atlantic Scottish athletes throw the Highland Games heavy events while a parade of pipe and drum bands, a Glen of Clans with family tartans and reenactors, Irish and Scottish music and dance, Celtic arts workshops and a riverfront marketplace fill the day

Last time around

The 2026 festival, its 10th year in Friendsville, was held June 6 at Friendsville Community Park, honoring Clan Hay, with the Highland Games, pipe and drum bands and performers including Seán Heely, Shanty Irish, Aurora Celtic and the Teelin School of Irish Dance
