What's special
After several years away, the Gilroy Garlic Festival has returned as a three-day, volunteer-run celebration of California's self-styled garlic capital, welcoming about 12,000 visitors when it revived in July 2026. It now takes place at the Hecker Pass Outdoor Events Center, a separately gated grassy park next to Gilroy Gardens but ticketed independently from it, and centers on garlicky food, cooking demonstrations and live music from local and regional acts, carried by the volunteer spirit the organizers describe as what makes the event special. Admission includes entry, live musical entertainment and cooking demonstrations, and children under three get in free.
