The Governors Ball is New York City's flagship music festival, staged in early June at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens (after a decade on Randall's Island). Since debuting in 2011 it has grown into one of the city's marquee events, pairing a wide-ranging bill -- indie rock, hip-hop, pop and electronic -- with New York food vendors and art. Recent headliners have included Tyler, the Creator, Olivia Rodrigo and Hozier

Attendees generally praise how organized the site feels -- plentiful portable toilets, free water all weekend and an easy, walkable central-city location reachable without a car.
